As part of downtown
revitalization, the first in a series of building-side murals was completed in
2007. The scene depicts how Ligonier may have appeared in 1835 when
settled by Isaac Cavin. More murals are planned, with five more to be
completed by the spring of 2008. The Future Ligonier Alliance is a group of business owners, officials,
and citizens who are working hard to preserve and revitalize the architectural
The Ligonier Visitors Center, housed in a 1920s filling station, shares the building with the Indian Historic Radio Museum. The Visitors Center is open during the summer, Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For specific Ligonier information, call toll free, 1-888-822-0262 or 260-894-9000. Stones Tavern was built in 1839 by Richard Stone and is the oldest existing building in Noble County. The building was a welcome site to stage coach passengers traveling the Goshen - Fort Wayne road. The building was used as a post office, jury room, and dance hall. It is now the location of a popular fall festival, the Stone's Trace Pioneer Festival. Another popular festival in Ligonier is the annual Marshmallow Festival held over Labor Day weekend. Another attraction in Ligonier is the Fashion Farm - Pumpkin
Fantasyland. A full-service restaurant open year-round to satisfy any
taste! The greenhouse and retail center have all you need for gardens and
patios. Pumpkin Fantasyland during the month of October is fun for the whole
family. The Jennie
Thompson Gardens provide a brilliant floral display in 23 gardens in 1 acre
that memorializes one of Ligonier's biggest benefactors, Jennie Thompson. You'll
enjoy walking through the brick pathways. Sitting space is available One of Indiana's historic round barn's is found just outside Ligonier.
