Welcome to "a taste of Spring…all year long!".

Maple Acres, located in southeastern Noble County just a couple miles east of Chain O" Lakes State Park, has been in the Owen family for over 4 generations. Owned and operated since 2000 by Bill and Kim Owen, (with the help of our extended family!) trees are being tapped in the same woods that Bill's father and grandfather gathered sap and "sugared-off" over 60 years ago.

While Grandpa used wooden buckets for sap collection and teams of horses to gather, today Maple Acres employs state of the art maple equipment and sugaring methods. With over 50,000 feet of tubing connected to vacuum systems collecting sap from over 1400 taps, the sap is brought to the Sugar House where it is cooked in a wood-fired evaporator until it is the perfect pure sweet product that brings back memories for our senior visitors and delights our younger guests!

Maple Acres is Board of Health approved and registered with the FDA. Take a peek at the newly constructed, modern kitchen that serves as a finishing, bottling area as well as where Maple candies and cream are produced. All products are pure, organically produced and contain no additives or preservatives.

Although up to date equipment is used in all aspects of syrup production at Maple Acres, you can still see a few buckets hanging near the Sugar House as well as many historic maple items. Visitors are welcome to tour the sugar bush and see the tubing system…just wear appropriate weather/hiking wear! During our busy early spring season, we may not always have someone available to guide your tour however.

The family loves to share the story of syrup making. While syrup is only produced during the late winter and early spring of February and March, the saying goes…"if the steam is rising from the sugar house stacks, stop by and sit a spell. Smell the wonderful aroma of the pure sweet maple, and taste the gift only Mother Nature can give."

Please call ahead if you would like to visit or are interested in our Pure Maple syrup, candies or cream.
